SustiBridge aims to strengthen democratic civic engagement by empowering European citizens, across generations and communities, to co-shape green policies for an inclusive, sustainable future. Rooted in the European Green Deal and aligned with the CERV programme’s values, the project mobilizes a diverse range of citizens, including youth, elderly, marginalized groups, migrants, and persons with disabilities, ensuring that environmental policymaking reflects Europe’s full social diversity. Through a mix of digital platforms, participatory workshops, art-based initiatives, and civic forums, SustiBridge bridges generational, geographic, and socio-economic divides to promote informed, rights-based action on climate change and sustainability. The project innovatively combines offline and online participation, fostering grassroots dialogue and high-level policy feedback loops through accessible, multilingual, and inclusive formats. It builds upon past EU initiatives by introducing real-time citizen feedback mechanisms, gamified green challenges, and co-creation spaces for local green innovations. By focusing on inclusivity and accessibility, SustiBridge champions gender equality, non-discrimination, and the active involvement of marginalized voices in Europe’s green transition. Activities will be conducted across eight countries, Slovenia, Greece, Italy, Hungary, Bulgaria, Croatia, Lithuania, and Belgium, ensuring broad EU representation. Outcomes will include citizen recommendations, local Green Rights Charters, capacity-building toolkits, and a sustainable network for civic-environmental engagement, all shared as open-access resources. In the long term, SustiBridge aims to transform participatory practices, contribute to a fair green transition, and reinforce cross-border European solidarity around environmental justice and democratic participation.
