Small and large municipalities today are experiencing a crisis of representation due to numerous factors: the progressive decline of rural areas in favour of cities undermines support for democracy in both contexts, in small rural towns due to a growing sense of impoverishment, in large urban agglomerations, especially on the periphery, the increase in population makes it difficult to provide services and puts groups at risk of exclusion even more at risk. All of this threatens to undermine the positive trend of trust in democratic institutions that today underpins the European institutions and in particular the Parliament. The project intends to bring some of the most important European policies closer to the citizens and in particular to women, the elderly, young people and migrants, in order to involve them in participatory democracy processes that allow them to express their opinions and take a stand, helping them to feel integrated in the EU decision-making processes. An innovative artistic methodology, in addition to participatory democracy methods, will make it possible to “represent” this increase in trust and consensus in a visually appealing way.
